Ok, ok fine. I finally gave in and got an account on Facebook. Why? I have no idea. Perhaps because nearly everyone at Critical Mass is on Facebook. As much as I wanted to stay out of this online social networking site, curiosity got the best of me.
As I explored the networks, I came across someone whom I haven’t seen for a very long time. My friend from Elementary, Leah.
I’m not sure if it was by pure coincidence or luck or mathematical algorithms that I came to find Leah. But whatever it was, it’s pretty cool being able to find someone I haven’t talked to for such a long time. It took a couple minutes to dig deep in my memory to recognize her full name, but I knew that I knew her from somewhere.
Leah and I go back to the early years of youth, when we all thought little of consequences in our actions. We first met in grade 5, one of the best years in elementary I would say. Squeaky voice and that white hair band, with a combination of her sweet smile, she turned out to be truly pretty deadly. But hey, we were kids back then.
Actually, I thought she was cute. But I when I found out she was going to start taking the same cheesewagon as me…things started to get very interesting. Like this one time, and yes I’m about to take you back into my childhood, we had this substitute teacher. Recess bell was about to go off and everyone was scrabbling to clean up before it rang. I was innocently tying my shoe when Leah came running down the aisle. I swear this is what happened, according to my side of the story (She may tell you otherwise). As she was passing by my desk, my foot that I was tying my shoe all of a sudden, in mid tie, slipped out of my grip and struck out in front of her. *SMACK* Face first into the floor. I spent a second trying to figure out what just happened but couldn’t so I started laughing my ass off along with everyone that saw it. I felt bad, really, because she was just lying there without any movement for a good minute. I tried to help her up but she became playfully violent.
Now what’s a guy like me tripping girls around? Well, that’s just a taste of grade 5, but probably the highlight of the year though. Oh wait no…there was a time where I was about to drill my fists several times into Taylor’s face that year too. Yup. Those were the days. And look at me now, web developer at CM working on Benz. Just to make you think, was I really that bad when I was young?
Nevertheless, it’s nice to find old friends that you’ve lost touch with. This was only possible with advancement in the web. Now the only question that’s floating around in my head right now is…Is Leah taller than me now?
